Plot summary

Wilson, twenty-nine, moved to Los Angeles not long before, and he is broke and alone as New Year's Eve arrives. He has no date and no plans, and after a rough year he intends to close the blinds, lock his door and let the night pass in bed. Jacob, his friend, presses him into putting a personal ad on Craigslist instead, and Vivian answers it within moments. She is strong-willed and set on having the right man beside her at midnight, and the two of them, strangers to each other, set off through the city's streets as the last hours of the year run out.
