Plot summary
Marika's husband Gabe, a young scientist and professor from Toronto, does not come back from a conference in Princeton, New Jersey, in 2000. The disappearance devastates her and their young son Erol, and in time Gabe is presumed dead. Twelve years later, Erol has come of age and his talent for mathematics has drawn the attention of MIT. His grandfather Sal raises another possibility about that trip: that Gabe vanished through a scientific experiment in time travel. Erol sets out to learn the truth, taking up the physics his father had been studying and working alongside Sal. Grace is Erol's girlfriend.
