Plot summary

A car accident that no one can account for derails the work of quantum physicist Steve Hamilton on a potentially ground-breaking theory. Dr. Trisha Rao, a neuroscientist, and FBI agent Mike Parker are drawn into the same mystery. The three of them must read clues that ordinary reasoning cannot explain, and their search moves through science, art, music and mysticism in turn. Classical music, fine art, quantum physics and the study of the brain all bear on what they find. The three come from very different fields, and each of them is committed to a rational account of what has happened.
