Plot summary
Grace and AJ are brother and sister in a blended family, and the distance between them has widened over the years. When AJ is set to undergo life-threatening surgery, Grace steps in as his caregiver and the two of them are once again in each other's company. The other siblings are pulled back together as well, and Grace confronts the complicated relationships she has with each of them. The story takes place in Los Angeles in the days that follow the death of Michael Jackson, whose music was the soundtrack to that stretch of her life; alongside her family's situation, she is also saying goodbye to him.
