Plot summary
Natale Lo Gatto is in charge of the Italian police station inside Vatican State. When a Vatican priest is murdered, he takes on the investigation, and it is during this case that he decides he should question the Pope himself. For that reason he is sent to Favignana, a remote Sicilian island, where a police commissioner has very little to do. Lo Gatto turns to the vanishing of a tourist instead, and the affair quickly grows complicated. As yet no corpse has been found. A journalist who is forever hunting sensational stories gives him a hand with the case.
