Plot summary
At her family's Connecticut mansion, wealthy seventh-grader Sofia Cox hosts a sleepover with classmates Sam, Francesca, Georgie, and others. The girls obsessively post photos on social media, but tensions escalate when Cat White arrives and taunts Georgie about her weight. Sofia orders Cat to leave, and Cat storms into the woods, continuing her cyberbullying online. To escape the harassment, the girls lock their phones in a safe and throw the keys into the swimming pool. Sam finds a car with blood on the windshield, but the others dismiss her fears. Dr. White returns to the house searching for Cat and threatens legal action; Ava runs away frightened.

- Director Tara Subkoff staged an anti-bullying protest outside the Cannes Market screening of her film in May 2015, where it screened out of competition for buyers and distributors.
- Tara Subkoff said she got the idea for the film from a friend's daughter who had been badly cyberbullied, after asking the girl what horror meant to her.
- Tara Subkoff shot the film in upstate New York and Connecticut over eighteen days in the winter of 2015 and called the shoot difficult because of harsh weather conditions.
- EMA said the film was her first score and that she worked closely with director Tara Subkoff on the music, spending weeks in a room with her.
