Plot summary
Fame has left Brooks Mason eager for a break from the crowds that surround him. In George Smith, a Hawaii plantation owner, he finds a man who looks enough like him to be his double, and the two arrange to exchange lives for a few weeks. Mason settles into Smith's life, which includes Smith's fiancée, Cecelia Grayson, and her wealthy father, Horace Grayson, and he takes an interest in Dorothy March, a dancer headed for Hawaii. Smith, for his part, steps into Mason's Hollywood life and finds the star treatment less appealing than he expected. Mason's manager, Joe Duffy, was never told about the switch and treats Smith as the star he believes him to be.
