Plot summary
When nuclear bombs hit Los Angeles, the nation collapses into chaos. Jeff Eriksson, a former Green Beret, moves his wife Tara and three children, including adopted daughter Gracie, into The Homestead, a fortified mountain compound owned by eccentric prepper Ian Ross. Gracie has disturbing visions of future violence. Other recruits and family members arrive as unrest spreads, and they secure the perimeter with food, water, firearms, and ammunition. Jeff's team trains the civilians to defend the compound. As refugees and armed outsiders press against the gates, residents argue over how much to share and how forcefully to respond. Uninvited friends of the Rosses also arrive seeking shelter, adding to the strain.
