Plot summary
Ray Burke works as an agent at a New York sports agency during a pro basketball lockout. A restaurant declines his credit card, and his boss, David Starr, tells him the company is losing clients, that employee cards and accounts have been frozen, and that he may lose his job. Ray looks for a plan that can save the agency and open opportunities for his client, the rookie Erick Scott, and he recruits his former assistant, Sam. He brings an offer to Emera Umber, the mother and lawyer of newly drafted Jamero Umber, who refuses it. Ray's ex-wife, Myra, says the team owners are deadlocked with the television networks. At Back Court Day, Erick and Jamero argue and then play one on one, and the video the children record goes viral.
