Plot summary

Spring comes to Jellystone National Park, and Boo-Boo Bear wakes from hibernation while Yogi Bear wakes hungry. Cindy Bear tries to win Yogi's attention. Ranger Smith keeps Yogi away from food, and an angry Yogi persuades the Ranger to transfer him out of the park. Cindy, wanting to be near Yogi at the zoo, angers Smith into sending her away too, and the San Diego Zoo has no room for her, so her train is bound for the St. Louis Zoo.

Hey There, It's Yogi Bear! was Hanna-Barbera's first theatrical feature, and also the first feature-length theatrical animated film based on a television program, the studio's own syndicated show The Yogi Bear Show.
The film was only the second time a character from short cartoons was expanded into carrying an entire feature on a single storyline. The first was Mister Magoo in 1959's 1,001 Arabian Nights.
The 1963 closure of the Warner Bros. Cartoons studio sent several of its animators, among them Gerry Chiniquy and Ken Harris, to Hanna-Barbera to work on this film.
