Plot summary
In the forest, Daffy Duck hangs signs on tree after tree announcing rabbit season, and he lays false rabbit tracks across the ground. It is really duck season, and he means for Elmer Fudd to set off on a misinformed hunting spree after the wrong animal. Elmer arrives with his gun, and when Bugs Bunny stands directly in front of him, Elmer does not notice him at all. Daffy comes out of hiding and points at Bugs, telling Elmer to shoot the rabbit at once. Bugs answers him, and the two of them argue over which of them the season actually covers, down to the words each one uses.
