Plot summary
Rudolph Murray hates his life. A large purple birthmark sits on his upper lip, and every day someone stares, points, or calls him a name such as Herpes Boy. He posts videos online about his life and rants about his family: a mother drawn to New Age ideas, a father who keeps his distance, and a grandmother with a short temper. His cousin works as an actress, a model and a dancer, and re-edits those videos to make herself more popular, drawing a huge new audience. Rudolph becomes a cyber-celebrity he never wanted.
