Plot summary
Futaba Kono works to support her teenage daughter Azumi, who is bullied at school and has few friends. When Futaba collapses at work, a hospital visit brings a diagnosis of terminal cancer and a few months left to live. She decides to use that time to put her family's life in order. She hires a private investigator, Takimoto, to find her husband Kazuhiro, who walked out on them. Kazuhiro returns to the house with Ayuko, a nine-year-old girl left in his care, and the reunion with Azumi is awkward. Futaba, Kazuhiro and the two girls set about reopening the family bathhouse so that it can support them again.
