Rie Miyazawa
Biography
Rie Miyazawa is a Japanese actress who was born in 1973 and began her career in films and television dramas, frequently cast as innocent girl-next-door characters. In the early 1990s she starred in the movie Erotic Liaisons and appeared in a photo book titled Santa Fe, which caused an outcry among the Japanese public. NHK, a conservative network, took her off one of its programs as a result, but close to two million copies of the book were still sold. She later eased back into dramas and motion pictures, rebuilding a career that had begun with gentler roles, and many young Japanese women look up to her for the way she came through hard times.
