Plot summary

Henry Gamble is 17, closeted, and a member of his church youth group. His father, Bob, is the head preacher of their church, and his mother, Kat, is active in its leadership. The night before his birthday Henry has a sleepover with his friend Gabe, and the next morning the family eats breakfast. Then the guests arrive, church adults and teenagers along with a few of Henry's friends from school. One adult brings wine, and some of the others object. Autumn, Henry's older sister, is home from a Christian college. Ricky, a congregation member, wants his summer camp chaperone job back, and church leadership is uneasy about it. Christine and Heather, who do not attend church, tease their peers and show concern for Logan and Ricky. Logan's feelings for Henry are not returned.
