Plot summary
A circle of young friends is addicted to an online computer game called Hellworld, which draws on the Hellraiser series. Adam becomes so immersed that he commits suicide, and at his funeral the other five feel responsible for not stopping him. Two years later, invites sent through the game bring them to a private Hellworld gathering at an old mansion. Mike, Derrick, and Allison are eager to attend; Chelsea goes reluctantly, while Jake, still distressed by Adam's death, agrees only because a female Hellworld player he has befriended online asks him to come so they can meet. The Host greets them, serves drinks, leads a tour of the mansion, and hands out cell phones for reaching other guests.

- Lance Henriksen plays the Host in Hellraiser: Hellworld, but he had already been offered the role of Frank Cotton in the first Hellraiser film and turned it down to star in the vampire thriller Near Dark (1987).
- Hellraiser: Hellworld was not written as a Hellraiser film: its script began as the short story "Dark Can't Breathe" by Joel Soisson and was later reworked into an entry of the series.
- Hellraiser: Hellworld exists because of a contract that required an eighth Hellraiser film to be shot alongside Hellraiser: Deader in Romania, so both were made from October to December 2002 to keep costs down.
