Plot summary
On Halloween in Carbondale, Illinois, Harper's roommate Bailey pushes her to break up with her abusive boyfriend, Sam. Harper, Bailey, Angela and Mallory head to a party, where they meet Evan and Nathan, and the six of them drive out to a haunted house attraction in a remote area. Masked performers dressed as a clown, ghost, witch, vampire, devil and zombie greet them; the visitors sign liability waivers and lock their phones away. Inside, a woman in a witch mask presses a hot poker to a screaming girl's face. Deeper in, the group reaches a fork in the maze, one path marked safe and the other not, and the friends separate.
