Plot summary
Snow White and the Prince are preparing to marry after their victory over the Evil Queen. The Queen's brother, Lord Maliss, learns of her death and vows revenge for it. He takes over the castle and lays waste to the kingdom. Maliss attacks the couple as they pick flowers for their wedding and captures the Prince. Snow White flees to the Dwarfs' cottage, where she meets their female cousins, the Dwarfelles. Muddy, Sunburn, Blossom, Marina, Critterina, Moonbeam and Thunderella take her to Mother Nature at Rainbow Falls.

- Walt Disney Productions chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg and spokesman Tom Deegan called Filmation's fairy-tale sequels "blatant rip-offs", prompting a 1987 Disney lawsuit. Filmation then promised its characters would not resemble Disney's, changed the title and replaced the Seven Dwarfs with female Dwarfelles.
- Producer Lou Scheimer said Irene Cara's casting as Snow White was seen by many at the time, Cara herself included, as strangely "colorblind", and that the part of Mother Nature was originally to have been played by Joni Mitchell.
- In 1998 the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission entered a civil enforcement judgment against officers of First National Entertainment Corp., who had issued false revenue projections for Happily Ever After, traded on undisclosed information and failed their reporting obligations.
