Plot summary
On the ocean, True Heart Bear and Noble Heart Horse care for a pack of baby animals called the Care Bear Cubs and the Care Bear Cousin Cubs. A red sea serpent, one of the forms taken by the shape-shifting spirit Dark Heart, attacks the ship. The group gets away by following a rainbow into the sky, and the boat becomes the Cloud Clipper. The Great Wishing Star puts a symbol on each creature's chest, marking its role, and True Heart and Noble Heart begin the Kingdom of Caring. True Heart and Swift Heart Rabbit are sent on the first Caring Mission, to a summer camp on Earth. There they meet Christy and her two closest friends, the twins Dawn and John. The boastful Camp Champ wins every contest, and the three children are put on trash duty.
