Plot summary

Vinu Ramachandran, an executive based in Dubai, is engaged to Anjali, and her brother Anandan manages a plant in Jamshedpur. Five years have passed since Vinu and his girlfriend Parvathy parted, and he is not over it. Anandan advises him on putting that hurt behind him. Anandan's own marriage is in trouble: an unsigned letter that defamed his wife, who is also named Parvathy, caused the two of them to live apart for a time. Vinu comes to see Anandan as a brother, and takes it upon himself to bring the couple back together. The wedding is set for Guruvayur Temple, where the two men are to become brothers-in-law.

Screenwriter Deepu Pradeep narrated the story of Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil to Prithviraj Sukumaran, who was initially supposed to portray the role of Vinu rather than the part he eventually played.
Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil marked the first collaboration of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph, and it also brought comedian Yogi Babu to Malayalam cinema for the first time.
Prithviraj Sukumaran was to join the filming during the third schedule, but it was delayed because of an injury he sustained on the sets of Vilayath Buddha; he finally joined the shoot in the last week of November in Guruvayur.
Principal photography on Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil began on 12 May 2023 with a puja and switch-on ceremony at the Guruvayoor Temple, and a set replicating the temple was built at Karattupallikkara in Perumbavoor municipality.
