Plot summary
A woman reports a grizzly that keeps attacking visitors, Girl Scouts among them, to a ranger station in Glacier National Park. Ranger Joan has logged the complaints before, but Chief Gary sends his crews to 21 smoke sightings left by lightning strikes and gives Joan a camping group to guide. Julie turns down Michele's invitation and chooses a trip with her boyfriend Roy, so Michele talks Paul into joining her party. Joan leads her hikers into the park, telling them the local bear is real. Roy and Julie hitchhike higher up the mountain, while Michele joins Paul, Robert, Dennis and Dennis's brother on the walk in with Paul's dog, Score. The lodge they reach is full, and its manager, Tom, waves off the danger while garbage piles up outside for bears.
