Plot summary
In a Texas border town, Charlie Clark sells cars and, in a mask, wrestles as the Lucha libre fighter Green Ghost. Attackers come looking for an otherworldly emerald, and Charlie discovers that he has super powers. Master Gin, an unconventional teacher, takes charge of his training. Charlie is told that he belongs to a secret warrior group, El Trio de la Luz, or triad of light, with Marco, his childhood friend, and Marco's sister Karina, all led by La Nana. The group exists to guard humanity against Drake, who embodies the Mayan apocalypse, an event that scholars have long misread.
