Plot summary
Film student Alex Wright does not accept that Grave Encounters is fiction, and he asks online for anyone with proof. A reply from a user named DeathAwaits6 sends him digging into the people who made the movie. He finds that its cast and crew are gone or dead, and that its directors were only interns for the producer, Jerry Hartfield. Hartfield admits to Alex that the footage was real. When Alex traces the asylum in the film to a disused hospital in British Columbia, he sets out for it with Trevor Thompson, Jennifer Parker, Tessa Hamill and Jared Lee, intending to find DeathAwaits6 there.
