Plot summary
Tom Wright and his wife Anna live in London, where renovating Tom's family home has left them in severe debt, and their attempts to have a baby have not succeeded. Their downstairs tenant, Ben, ignores their requests to keep the noise down, so they go into his apartment and find him dead of a heroin overdose. Cleaning the place, they come across a stash of cash hidden above a loose ceiling tile. Tom and Anna debate what to do with the money and with the rest of Ben's things. Ben and three other men had robbed Khan, a French heroin dealer, and Ben ran off with the proceeds. Detective Halden has begun tracking the couple's movements.
