Plot summary
Sam, 17, goes into the Catskills for a backpacking trip with her father Chris and his friend Matt, who is recently divorced. Matt's son Dylan was supposed to come but refuses, angry about the divorce. On the drive, Matt and Chris joke back and forth, and Sam sometimes handles texts on Chris's phone. The three share one hotel room: Sam sleeps on a sleeping bag while the men take the beds. At dinner, Matt makes light of Sam being queer and jokes about the baby Chris has with his second wife.
