Plot summary
Dexter Reed has spent the years since leaving Good Burger on one business idea after another, and all of them have flopped. For his latest, a spray that keeps material from catching fire, he stages a demonstration at his own house for investors. The spray fails and the house burns, leaving Dexter with no home and no company. His sister Charlotte, one of the people who backed him, will not let him move in, so he phones Ed, who takes him in. Ed still works at Good Burger and now owns it, and the crew has grown to include his son Ed 2, the elderly Ruth, the twins Cindy and Mindy, and Dexter's niece Mia, who wants nothing to do with him. Cecil McNevin, a lawyer for MegaCorp, keeps pushing Ed to make the restaurant a global franchise.
