Plot summary
Noa, who lives in Portland, has had enough of dating apps and the tedious dates they bring her. A man who calls himself Steve talks to her in a grocery store produce section, and she decides to give him her number. The two form a bond on their first date and keep seeing each other. After several dates, Steve invites Noa on a weekend getaway to a destination he will not name. Mollie, her best friend, tells her not to go, but Noa agrees anyway. She plans to leave early the next morning and spends the evening at Steve's house.

- Sebastian Stan landed the role of killer Steve/Brendan in Fresh by sending director Mimi Cave an audition video of himself dancing with a knife; he said the film's dance sequences worried Cave, so he recorded it in case she doubted he could do them.
