Plot summary
Four interconnected stories unfold in 1987 Oakland. Punks Tina, Lucid and their friends leave a movie and hear Nazi skinheads in a pickup truck shouting slurs at the crowd outside. The same skinheads later wreck an Operation Ivy show at 924 Gilman Street, assaulting fans and destroying equipment, and the punk community votes the next day to organize a defense. Barbie and Entice, who rap as Danger Zone, meet a moviegoer who knows their music and invites them to perform with Too Short, while a policeman harasses them at their ice cream job. Clint, a criminal trying to leave that life, learns the organization he serves will not release him and wants him for a job tied to a basketball game. Sleepy Floyd is in the middle of a record-setting game for the Golden State Warriors.
