Plot summary
Sheriff Matthew Bradshaw is accused by his daughters of abusing them. Questioned by investigators, with his pastor at his side, he comes to believe that he has been blinded by the devil, and he confesses. The accusations against him keep growing more elaborate. The girls describe satanic rituals and name their own mother, neighbors and other police officers as participants. A memory expert is brought in to make sense of the confusion this widening story creates. Nearly everyone around the sheriff seems to accept that he is guilty, and he begins to break apart and to question whether he is innocent at all.
