John M. Jackson
Biography
John M. Jackson is an American actor who began acting at a community theater in his late 20s, then headed to New York City in 1980 and afterward to Hollywood. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, he built a career mostly in television, with a recurring role on Wiseguy and guest spots on shows like MacGyver. In 1992 he played Captain West in A Few Good Men, and in 1996 he took the part of Rear Admiral A. J. Chegwidden on JAG, a role he kept for eight years. He also appeared in The Spitfire Grill as Johnny B. and Eli Ferguson, had a recurring role on Bones, and played the ambassador of Texas in the finale of Jericho. He returned as Chegwidden on NCIS in 2013 and on NCIS: Los Angeles.
