Plot summary
In Surrey, England, Poppy Wakefield writes freelance articles and keeps house for her husband Stephen, whose bird-watching trips hide an affair. On his birthday he cancels their evening, and she overhears him on the phone calling her gullible. A talk show about George Clooney's charity work leaves her convinced he is everything Stephen is not. When her friend Justin, who planned her wedding, invites her to Los Angeles, she flies out. At Justin's suggestion she sees Dr. Faye, a celebrity specialist, who questions her devotion to George, and Poppy defends it. At a farmers' market a young juice vendor named Luke flirts with her.

Clooney's status as one of the world's most eligible bachelors prompted Jordan's story.
