Plot summary
Ann 'Flaxen' Tarry is the star attraction at the fanciest gambling hall on San Francisco's Barbary Coast, and she is known as the Flame of the Barbary Coast. The hall is owned by Tito Morell, a card shark who is also her lover. Duke Fergus, a naive cowboy from Montana, arrives in the city and visits the notorious district. He sees Flaxen and becomes smitten with her. Fergus is talked into gambling against Morell. He is cheated and loses all his money.
