Plot summary
An artisanal tea shop in Sydney, opened with Lia's grandmother's inheritance, is not successful, and Lia keeps that from her family. She travels to Townsville for the wedding of her younger sister Alice to Nigel and brings Mason, a close friend and workmate, along for support. At the engagement party her parents bicker, and the fortune teller Mrs. Li reads her palm: she will find her soulmate among her next five dates, and the shop's fortunes and her love life are connected. Her mother reintroduces her to Ezra, a younger teacher, and childhood friend Richard appears after years without contact. Lia asks her family to choose blind dates for her.
