Plot summary
President Helen Colton lands in Brussels for a G-7 summit, facing an international crisis over Russia's annexation of Crimea. Elisabeth Seward, her National Security Advisor, brings word that General John Reager of Air Force Space Command wants an immediate unscheduled meeting. Colton and Seward descend into a bunker, where Reager and Major Ellen Sampson have prepared a slide presentation. Reager describes a signal that Sampson's unit intercepted through a military satellite, which points to a spot in space where the pull of the moon, Earth and sun holds an object in place. A civilian named Cedric Yonah arrives with James Griffin and clashes with Reager. Yonah argues for watching rather than fighting, Reager calls for a global surveillance order, and Colton signs Operation Troy, which funds a hunt for the alien presence.
