Plot summary
Jack Stanfield runs security at Landrock Pacific Bank in downtown Seattle, where the computer system and firewall he designed guard against fraud. A collection agency claims he owes $95,000 to an online gambling site, and he treats the demand as identity theft, leaving it with his colleague Harry Romano. Harry introduces him to Bill Cox, a possible partner for a security project. Cox gets into Jack's car, holds him at gunpoint and makes him drive home, where his wife Beth and their two children wait under the watch of one of Cox's men. The next morning Jack is told to move ten thousand dollars out of each of the bank's ten thousand largest depositor accounts, a hundred million dollars in all, into Cox's offshore accounts, wearing a rigged camera and microphone so he cannot ask for help.
