Plot summary
Alexis Johnstone, who goes by Alex, comes from a small town where racing has long been part of her family. Her father spent his life at the track and the sport killed him. Her uncle Bill now runs the local speedway, and having already lost his brother to racing, he has no wish to lose his niece the same way. Alex is set on showing Bill, the racing world and herself that she can hold her own in a sport that men have long dominated. Then she meets Darryl Sands, a professional racecar driver, and the emotional stakes rise higher.
