Plot summary
Jane delivers the news in Miami, where women have been raped and killed, and she warns her viewers to be careful. At home she looks after Tracy, her teenage sister, who is blind and deaf and does not speak, and who does much for herself. Jane's boyfriend David, a lawyer, wants her to move in with him, but she does not want to upset Tracy's routine. In the garage of their building, Jane sees a neighbor, Stanley Herbert, remove a shirt stained with blood and throw it in a bin, and she learns that he lives in the tower directly opposite hers. David says what she has is only circumstantial, so Jane investigates on her own.
