Plot summary
Goshen, Indiana, is a farm town with little to offer its teenagers. Sarah is a star student and athlete whose attorney mother, Maureen, is rarely home. Her best friend Jillian has a rough home life. Both want out, and Jillian moves first, telling Sarah she has been meeting men online in the hope one will take her away. After a party hosted by Billy, where Jillian had to fight off his advances, she disappears, leaving Sarah a journal and a cryptic video message from her cell phone. The town would rather forget Jillian, the police offer no help, and her mother, Candy, assumes she has run away again. Sarah is not convinced, and with Jasper, a computer expert at school, she starts following the video and a strange necklace Jillian received from an online boyfriend.
