Plot summary
An asteroid strikes the moon, and the sudden shift in the ocean tides sets off storms across Earth. When the scientists studying the moon examine it further, they discover that its structure has become unstable, a state that threatens all life on the planet. Both problems trace back to the impact, and the team has no way to repair the moon on its own. Time is running out, so the scientists turn to John Redding, a demolitions expert, and ask him to find a solution. Their aim is to secure the moon and bring the storms to an end.
