Plot summary
Cast as a musketeer, Daffy Duck strides into an action scene with a fencing foil and thrusts at his opponent. The backdrop vanishes mid-lunge, leaving white space, so he turns to the animator and asks for the scenery to be finished. What comes back is a setting with nothing to do with his scene, and the same trick repeats with new places and new outfits for him to wear. When he tries to reason with the unseen artist, Daffy is wiped off the screen and returns as a guitar-playing cowboy, though no music will play. A sign asking for sound earns him every effect except the one he wants, and his own speech turns into noises until he loses his temper.
