Plot summary
Ichabod Crane comes to the small town of Sleepy Hollow to serve as its new schoolteacher. He is a gangly man, yet he charms the ladies of the town, and he sets his heart on Katrina Van Tassel, the village beauty. Brom Bones, the local hero, does not intend to let Ichabod take his Katrina, and a rivalry grows between the two men. Ichabod keeps gaining the upper hand, and the hollow has its own ghost story of a Headless Horseman. Brom learns that the schoolteacher is superstitious, and he turns the legend into a song meant to frighten him.
