Michael Elwyn

Michael Elwyn is a Welsh actor whose career has spanned stage, television and film. Born in Pontypridd and raised from the age of five in Stratford, he set aside plans for a legal career and began acting as a schoolboy, playing the lead in a production of Saint Joan at Marlborough Public School. At Oxford University he studied English but devoted himself to student theater, appearing in sixteen productions that toured as far as France, Israel and Ireland and reached the West End. He learned his trade in repertory and took the surname Elwyn for professional use. On television he had regular roles in Doomwatch, The Regiment, The Carnforth Practice, Triangle, The Brief, Sam Saturday, Bad Girls and Robin Hood, and in 2020 he joined Coronation Street as Charles Moore. His stage work includes The Audience, in which he played Anthony Eden, and his films include Shadow Man (2006).
