Plot summary
Work is scarce for Arabella Childs, a fashion designer, so she becomes personal shopper to Marylin Blacklock-Charterhouse, a novelist known for her erotica. The job takes Arabella into Marylin's home and her wardrobe. Alone there, she tries on Marylin's expensive clothes. Marylin comes back early and she is not by herself: a man who is not her husband is with her. Arabella hides. From cover she watches the two of them make love on the bed, and the sight arouses her. She keeps hiding and keeps watching as Marylin's affairs carry on in the bedroom, staying out of sight each time.
