Plot summary
In New York City, the Rathcarts and the Gibbons run competing telecommunications companies, and their feud traces back to an 1864 duel between Tarleton Rathcart and Theodore Gibbon. Ben Gibbon, the youngest heir, has turned his back on the family fortune. Mary Rathcart was sent to a boarding school abroad after her parents learned of her romance with Ben, and she has now come home. Ben and his friend Mukul appear at a party at the Rathcart estate, where Mary's parents remind him of the restraining order against him. William Rathcart hired Terrence Uberahl to watch over Mary abroad, and Terrence wants to marry her. Wayne, a hitman with a code of ethics, and his girlfriend Barbie are drawn into the families' conflict.
