Plot summary
Harper James is a young law student grieving for his mother, who lies in a coma after a car accident. He blames his stepfather, Vincent, a powerful man, for the crash, and Vincent has been unfaithful to Harper's mother. One evening in a bar, Harper meets Johnny Ray, a professional criminal with debts to pay, and over a drink Johnny Ray agrees to kill Vincent for $20,000. Harper struggles to decide whether he should go through with such a killing. The next morning Johnny Ray and his girlfriend, Cherry, arrive to take Harper to Las Vegas to carry out the murder.
