Plot summary
Hiroki Sawada, a child prodigy and MIT graduate student, builds an artificial brain called Noah's Ark under the guardianship of Thomas Schindler, head of Schindler, Inc. One night Hiroki sends the program through the telephone lines and disappears from his room. Two years later, Schindler, Inc. stages a showcase for its immersive virtual reality game, Cocoon, at Beika City Hall. Conan Edogawa, Ran, and the Detective Boys attend, and Conan joins the game after Professor Agasa gives him a badge. A top Schindler employee is found murdered with a dying message, and Conan hopes the game will provide an answer. When play begins, Noah's Ark seizes control and warns that if all fifty children lose, it will kill them. The children pick among five stages, and Conan's group enters a nineteenth-century London in the world of Sherlock Holmes.
