Plot summary
Word of the Blue Sapphire Fist, a sapphire said to have gone down with a pirate ship off Singapore, sets a local millionaire planning a recovery. When the stone surfaces at an exhibit in a Singapore hotel, a murder follows, and Kaitō Kid's calling card is found at the scene. Makoto Kyogoku competes in a martial arts tournament there, with Ran Mouri and Sonoko Suzuki watching. Conan Edogawa, stranded in Japan without a passport, is kidnapped by Kaitō Kid, who wants his help with the sapphire. Stripped of his glasses, wristwatch and clothes, Conan must keep his identity hidden; asked his name by Ran, who does not recognize him, he calls himself Arthur Hirai. Disguised as Shinichi Kudo, Kid looks into the sapphire held in a mansion's underground vault, while Leon Lowe, a Singaporean detective, hunts the seabed treasure too.
