Deepwater (2005) on Netflix

Plot summary

A fight at a truck-stop bar leaves Nat Banyon with another man's sports car, and he drives on toward the ostrich farm he hopes to open in Wyoming. On the road he finds a stranger trapped in an overturned vehicle and pulls him free before a truck destroys the wreck. The stranger, Herman Finch, grateful to be alive, takes Nat on as handyman at his motel. Nat discovers that Finch runs a criminal operation in collusion with the police, and that most of the town is in league with him. Finch's young wife, Iris, wants to run away with Nat and take Finch's money. When Nat begins asking about the town's mysterious activity, Finch proposes a boxing match: if Nat wins, he can leave with his car and his wages.
