Plot summary
Death to 2021 is a mockumentary special and the follow-up to Death to 2020. Its invented commentators talk through the American news of the year, among them the pandemic, false claims about vaccines and the power of large technology companies. Tennyson Foss is a historian on the right, Duke Goolies a social media influencer, and Zero Fournine runs a social media company. Snook Austin and Penn Parker are journalists, and Madison Madison is a conspiracy theorist who anchors a news program. Kathy Flowers is a mother who backs Donald Trump and believes conspiracy theories, while Gemma Nerrick is a member of the public. Pyrex Flask studies SARS-CoV-2. Archival footage sits alongside scripted sketches.
