Biography

Diane Morgan is an English actress, comedian and writer who began performing stand-up at age 30 after a small role in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. She is known for playing Philomena Cunk, the interviewer she portrayed in Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe and in mockumentaries including Cunk on Shakespeare (2016) and Cunk on Life (2024). For that role she received two British Academy Television Award nominations and a Primetime Emmy nomination. On television she played Liz in Motherland and Kath in the Netflix comedy After Life, and her BBC Two series Mandy, which she wrote and starred in, brought a British Academy Television Award nomination for Best Female Comedy Performance. Her film work includes David Brent: Life on the Road and Me Before You, while she played Gemma Nerrick in Death to 2020 (2020) and Death to 2021 (2021) and Onya Doorstep in Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024). She co-wrote and starred in the 2026 sitcom Ann Droid.
